The ELC is dependent on volunteers in many capacities. We can work closely with you to arrange a volunteer day for your group that meets your needs as well as those of the ELC. Individual volunteers can help us on Service Saturdays, Carpe Diem, or through our Wildlife Monitoring Program. Our volunteer projects range from the very creative to the very dirty. Read on to learn how to get involved.
Group Service Projects
Does your organization need a place to fulfill a service commitment? We’re happy to have you! Contact us ahead of time to arrange a date and time. Please note that our Spring schedule books up early. The earlier the better on reserving a time for your group! Projects vary from the very creative to the very dirty. Contact the ELC for more information.
Individual volunteers can help out in three ways:
Service Saturdays – Generally held on the last Saturday of each month from September thru March (not including December), 10am-1pm. The projects vary and can include trail work, gardening, invasive weed management and other tasks.
Carpe Diem – Our biggest volunteer event, usually held on the second or third Saturday in April. Projects vary each year, but can include building new structures, painting existing structures, habitat restoration, and more.
Wildlife Monitoring Program – This is an opportunity to help out during hours and days of the week that work best for you. As a Wildlife Monitoring Volunteer you would be charged with walking the trails and mapping the type, quantity, and location of wildlife that you see. This information allows us to manage our trail system with wildlife in mind.
